The evolution of communication directly affected to development of human behavior. Communication is very important because human is a collective animal. Humanity cannot exist without the collective. Human beings want some factors, such as agreement, understandings for collective survival. How do these factors work between two or more people? That is, how do you understand?. The simplest answer to the above question is that there should be some kind of exchange of ideas.
Introduction in communication
When someone forwarded a thought to another, both become bearers of it. Otherwise, the other’s opinion will either become negative or overpowering, and then both become owners of common thought. All the obligations, conventions, and understandings in a society are the result of this process. This process of combination is what we call communication. The word ‘communication’ is derived from the above idea. The word ‘Common’ means in general. In Latin, ‘munis’ means is the one who does something. It is clear that the term communication is derived from the process of generalizing ideas.
To understand the importance of communication, we can think about the fate of any society in which no known communication function exists. The advances made today would therefore not be a reality without communication. The results of interventions in the communication process are thousands of languages, art, and literary creations in use around the world.
Evolution of Communication
Present development in human society was not made in a year or a decade or a century. It developed constantly over the centuries. This appears to have been attributed to human’s unique mental and intellectual abilities.
Human communication has become a rapid process through some factors. There are listening, memory, imagination, thinking, the ability to transmit knowledge to others, as well as the ability to pass on knowledge to others. The evolution of communication has also influenced human cognition and expression.
In ancient times, the man wanted to hunt animals and express what they had done. To that end, they painted their own experiences in the rocks. The result is the development of painting. It is the progressive evolution of art, photography, from cinema to television. Sometimes they had to show off their experiences. Anthropologists acknowledge that this is how acting and drama evolved. Another human achievement in the communication process is the creation of common symbols. Common symbols are used to shorten ideas. This is a progressive evolution in the various alphabets that are currently used in the world.
Although, the factors mentioned above are the basic processes of communication. Communication has grown into a wider process with different technologies. At the same time, communication established to be expanded as a technical process.
Evolution of written communication
Developing visual symbols in written languages is a victory of the early era of written communication. There are thousands of languages in the world, but only about 500 have their own alphabets. Writing on rocks and recording on clay tablets is an attempt to keep the word to the world. Ancient people also used to write things on palm leaves and papyrus leaves.
With the approach of printing, written communication becomes a vast process. The beginning of this vast process started by a Chinese man named Cai Lun. Because he invented the paper. It was 105 CE. At that time, The Chinese were trying to get more copies of the same document using clay and wood. In parallel, there have been numerous attempts at printing in other countries. But the prospect of printing technology came to fulfillment with the invention of the printer by Johannes Gutenberg. He first published a 1282-page Bible in 1456. The amount of copies is one hundred and fifty.
With his printing machine, the written communication revolution has taken place in mankind. By now, the printers have gone through many stages and have come up with complex printers. Today’s man has achieved the technological advancement of printing and distributing tens of millions of copies of a newspaper in the early hours of the night. With the spread of printing, the gathering and distribution of knowledge and information have begun more powerful.
Distance communication
Distance communication has been a requirement in humans since ancient times. Early efforts included the use of an arrow to send messages from one location to another, the sending of messages by different animals and birds, or by specific people. In the modern world, the rapid evolution of written communication has the introduction of new forms of e-mail, as well as mobile phone text messages and chat services. The creation of the Internet should be known as the modern paradigm of written communication. There are many articles on the Internet today, including books and newspapers. The knowledgebase is now available in every corner of the world, making it easy to access from anywhere in the world. Because of web technology, all the limitations on printed books have been exceeded.
Evolution of voice communication
Voice communication is the way of exchange thoughts, ideas, data, and information using voice and sounds by humans. With the invention of the phone, it was able to deliver the message more effectively to anyone, anywhere. The inventor of the telephone is Alexander Graham Bell. Because of the telephone, has eliminated the problem of interpersonal distance. The phone has caused many changes in human behavior in the world.
Guglielmo Marconi invented the radio in 1920. That was the main milestone in the broadcasting of voice communications. The specialty of this radio does not have to be connected to wire for connection like the telephone and capable of sending messages from one location to many locations. Because of the above reason Initially, people called the wireless telephone for the radio. Short and mediumwave technology helped to develop the radio transmission. Since then, with the advancement of technology, radio has become more modern with FM waves.
Due to its low maintenance costs, radio has become the most powerful and widespread communication medium in the world. Radio has been able to develop a wider subscription area by using mobile phones as well as automobiles. In additional, nowadays podcast is one of popular voice communication.

Cinema media is also a medium created by several other communication media. At first, there were only visual images and then came voice(audio) communication.
In 1865, Julius Mare commissioned a group of photographs to experiment at the speed of motion. For that purpose, they created a camera that can take 12 photos in second. In 1891, Thomas Alva Edison invented the kinetoscope. That was a moving-picture camera. In addition these findings, successful experiments have been reported elsewhere in the world. In 1895, the Lumiere brothers were able to shoot a group of workers leaving a factory (watch video). They began collecting money from the audience and began filming in 1896. Since then, cinema has continued to be a unique medium of communication.
Television has made a huge impact on today’s audio-visual media by employing other techniques that are similar to those of the cinema industry.
